The Board of Trustees

Following the decision to convert to an Independent Charity, a unique opportunity has arisen for the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity to establish a diverse, dynamic and committed Board of 7-9 Trustees, to include two current members of The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre Foundation Trust Board.

The new Board of Trustees who will join at a significant point in the Charity’s history and will have the opportunity to truly make a difference to local people with cancer.

In the first instance, The Charity is looking to recruit a Chair to provide guidance and support to the leadership team and leadership and direction to the new Board of Trustees. Ideally the new Chair will bring considerable senior management and Board experience together with strong leadership skills and a commitment to improving cancer outcomes for the people of Merseyside and Cheshire. Joining at this early stage the new Chair will have the opportunity to be involved in developing the structure and vision of the new Charity.

The Board of Trustees will be the governing body of The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, a charitable company, and the Trustees will therefore have duties under charity law and company law. While executive management is delegated to the Chief Executive of the Charity, the Board of Trustees are responsible for the governance and the strategic direction of the Charity and for ensuring it delivers its stated charitable objectives.
