Chair of Trustees Recruitment

Most people will be impacted by cancer at some point in their lives – either themselves or their loved ones. When they receive that news, they want and need access to cutting-edge treatment with compassionate patient care. The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity is here for them – raising millions of pounds each year in support of the world-class Clatterbridge Cancer Centre NHS Foundation Trust. We are at a significant point in our history, as we become an independent charity for the first time and seek to increase funding to the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre. We are now recruiting a Chair of Trustees to guide and support this journey. This person will be an inspiring, dynamic, and experienced Chair to provide sound leadership, help us shape a brand-new Board of Trustees, also under recruitment, and launch the next phase of the Charity’s development. This is a unique opportunity to make a real impact to people’s lives.

Introduction

The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre is a lifeline for over 100,000 people living with cancer across Merseyside and Cheshire – providing specialist cancer treatment through a unique network of care across the region. The Cancer Centre gives hope to patients and their families every day, but as the NHS emerges from the most testing time in its history, it needs our support more than ever.

We are The Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, and together with our supporters and volunteers, we are passionate about the incredible care given at Clatterbridge. It is our role to fund life-saving research, invest in leading technology, enhance the patient environment and enable innovations in care that make a real difference to the lives of those who need us.

In response to NHS challenges, growing care needs, and potential breakthroughs in treatment, the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity aims to significantly step-up support to the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre and its patients, ensuring they receive effective and compassionate care.

With renewed ambition that builds on our strong history, the Clatterbridge Cancer Charity will now be established as an independent charity. We are recruiting for a dynamic and committed Board of Trustees to offer insight and energy toward bold goals. The Trustees, led by an inspiring and experienced Chair, will be responsible for the direction of the Charity, helping us double income and impact, whilst ensuring good leadership and sound governance.

This dedication to supporting the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre through the Charity will deliver improved cancer care to thousands of people across Merseyside and Cheshire – truly saving and changing lives.
